SKELLEY, Robert C. [1934-2020]
“Two Men”
1964
woodcut / 6 1/2” x 3 1/2″ / edition of 50
“Two Men”, a three-color woodcut by artist Robert Skelley, was part of a projected set of playing cards—a fund-raiser for the Community Collection itself. Instead, it became an auction of limited edition prints and probably raised more money than the cards themselves would have generated.

Is there anything known about this artist? I have a different woodcut from him, and I wonder if I can find more information…
Sorry for the bad reading of the artist’s name. It should be Skelley. So you can look here: https://graphictrends.wordpress.com/robert-skelley/. I just searched for more work by Skelley and came up empty handed.
I suspect the name of this artist might actually be “Robert C. Skelley” (although how you get this from his signature I can’t imagine!) I came across this page while trying to identify another of his works for someone over on Reddit, and was delighted to find any information, so thank you! However someone else pointed to the surname being ‘Skelley’ which seems to be backed up by a google search.
Thanks for that heads-up. One other person “read” it as SKUNT, but no one else.
