Sailing Ship at Anchor

watercolor on paper / 5 inches by 10 inches

Signed indistinctly in the lower left corner, we are continuing research to identify the artist of “Sailing Ship at Anchor,” though it’s tempting to think the building profile in the distance could be Venice. The sheet size suggests it came from a typical pad of watercolor paper that even casual American tourists carried on European excursions.
